Using CardEntry in Claude and ChatGPT
If you already work with Claude or ChatGPT, you can connect CardEntry there. You start a stack in the chat, ask about open cards, have condition or version changed, and get the file for Cardmarket at the end without switching pages. The photos themselves still go up in the app.
Setting it up in Claude
Claude supports custom connectors on every plan, one on the free plan. You need a CardEntry account. Sign-in runs through CardEntry itself.
- Go to Customize, then Connectors, click + Add and choose Add custom connector.
- Enter a name such as CardEntry and https://api.cardentry.app/mcp as the address.
- Keep the suggested sign-in settings, click Add and sign in with your CardEntry account.
- In Team and Enterprise accounts an owner adds the connector under Organization settings, then Connectors. Each member then connects under Customize, then Connectors.
Setting it up in ChatGPT
According to OpenAI, custom connectors that can also make changes are only available on the Business, Enterprise and Edu workspace plans, and an admin turns them on. On Pro, custom connectors can only be connected read-only, so starting stacks, changing cards and getting the file do not work there. OpenAI does not list Plus or the free plan for this.
- An admin or owner turns on developer mode for custom MCP connectors in the workspace settings under Permissions & Roles. On Enterprise and Edu this can be limited to selected people through roles.
- In developer mode, create a new app with https://api.cardentry.app/mcp as the address.
- Choose OAuth for authentication and sign in with your CardEntry account.
- On Business only an admin or owner creates the app and publishes it to the workspace.
Photos go through the app
Dragging a hundred photos into a chat would be slower than any scanner. When you ask the assistant to start a new stack, you get two links: one for the app on your computer, where you drop a whole folder, and one for the camera on your phone. Once the photos are uploaded, the assistant reads the results.
What you do in the chat
Anything you would otherwise click in the list, you say in one sentence. A few examples:
- "Which cards in my last stack have no match yet?"
- "Set every card to Near Mint, except the Charizard. That one is Excellent."
- "The Pikachu is the German printing. Change the language."
- "That is not the promo version. Find the regular one."
- "Make me the file for TCG PowerTools."
- "How many credits do I have left?"
What stays faster in the app
Going through a large stack card by card is quicker in the app with the keyboard than in a chat: you see photo and match side by side and move on with one key. The chat pays off for questions and changes that cut across the stack, and for the export at the end.
When the chat hands out the file
In the chat you only get the file once every card is matched well enough that the auto-check in the app would release it on its own: with a Cardmarket product, an unambiguous match and below your price limit. Otherwise the assistant lists the open cards and you correct them in the chat. Cards you ticked by hand in the app are not visible to the chat. Export such a stack in the app.
What the assistant can do
The connector only sees your own account. It can start stacks, change cards and build the file, but it cannot list anything on Cardmarket: you upload the file to TCG PowerTools yourself, as before. Every recognised card costs one credit, whether the stack was started from the chat or the app. You can disconnect in the Claude or ChatGPT settings.
Setup and plans follow the help pages of Anthropic and OpenAI as of 23 October 2026. Menu names and plan limits change. When in doubt, the provider's own help applies, not this page. CardEntry is an independent tool and has no business relationship with Anthropic or OpenAI.
